The song you are listening to is named "Bicycle Race" by a band called Between the Buried and Me. I'm not a real big fan of Queen so naturally i don't have the original song, so you're stuck with the screamo remix.
It all started on Sunday. Easter Sunday. My family usually attends the 8:30am session of church, but since my mom was out of town, and i had to recover sleep-wise from my trip to Austin, I decided that i was going sleep in a little bit and go to the 12:30 session. No big, right? 12:30 it is! So i roll out of bed around 12 and, being the procrastinator i am, don't start getting ready until it's practically time to leave for church. Great way to start off Easter Sunday....hold on...Easter Sunday...in march? wtf? Why would they do that to people? It's supposed to be in April it's always in April! So, i get ready not even realizing that it's Easter and...well, i looked like a "scrounge" as my mom would call it . This is my usual churchwear- Black slacks, white button-up shirt (tucked in), black dress shoes, tie, belt...the whole kit and caboodle. This is what i wore for one of the most important Sundays of the year - khakis, white shirt (not tucked in), no tie, no belt, a sweater vest, and black dress shoes that definitely didn't compliment the ensemble. Now that's a great way to start off Easter Sunday.
I went with my sister Allison and, of course, we were late. The chapel was pretty full, but we did manage to get a seat a little closer than the very back row. So we're just chillin in church right? Singin the hymns and what not. I don't know what possessed me to do it, but out of the 3 songs we sang, i definitely sang at least 2 of them as though i was trying out for American Idle. Why? I dunno. So we're sitting down waiting for the speakers to do their thing, and see that one of the speakers is a girl who was visiting home from BYU-I(daho). This girl (who shall remain nameless) is a total joke. As soon as i heard her say "Well, i decided that I'm not 12 anymore so i didn't really "write" a talk..." What does age have to do with being well prepared for giving a talk? Guess what? All of the General Authorities write down their talks...so....don't be gay.
First impressions mean a lot to me, and this girl wasn't making the cut. So, instead of listening to her speak (about jesus, and Easter) i decide that it would be a better idea to just doodle on the back of the the program...very mature of me, eh? I wasn't really paying close attention to what she was saying but i did hear her say something about these men who would drive up next to people and steal their money or something? To be honest all i heard were the words "drive up next to." I found this rather funny, and wrote Allison a note that said, "that reminds of a time i drove right next to a bicyclist and starting blasting I WANT TO RIDE MY BICYCLE, I WANT TO RIDE MY BIIIIKE!" Then explained that i was sure the cyclist wanted to kill me or display his anger is some way but knew he shouldn't because at any time i could run over him. And i would have. Allison found that was pretty funny, and that was basically the breaking point. The rest of church i was just being obnoxious and extremely irreverent. ITS FREAKING EASTER SUNDAY!!! WHO DOES THAT!?! We left church and sorta talked about me and the bike guy or whatever on the ride home. Allison thought it was really funny, so she wanted to tell EVERYONE! woohoo! Brad's a funny guy!....
Guess who's not laughing?
For those of you who are lucky enough to not know what this is, it's a traffic violation ticket. In my case, it was for speeding. According to the officer who pulled me over, i was going 14 mph over the speed limit. "44 in a 30" if you will. And do you know why i was going fourteen miles per hour over the speed limit???
Oh the irony!
The reason i was speeding was to get past freaking bicyclists! Seriously, i wanted to bust out Bicycle Race on them, i had my ipod ready and everything! but i didn't. Why didn't I? Because i remembered church and talking about it, and figured i just shouldn't do it. So i do the right thing by not being a total douche bag and i get pounded for it! But like the saying goes, what goes around, goes around, goes around, goes all the way back around. ( You've got to love Justin Timberlake)
